5 Tips for a Successful Community Event

Hosting community association events can be a great way to connect residents, and with Easter right around the corner, and egg hunt is a great community event for an association to host.

Here are five tips for an association to keep in mind while planning a community event.

  • Solicit volunteers and assign them to a specific aspect of the event, a
Social Committee can be very helpful in planning these events.
  • Set the date and location. If the event is held at the community, decide ahead of time
where it will be located and set a start and end time.
  • Communicate. Advertise the time and date and provide an alternate date if the event
has to be rescheduled due to weather. Decide how the rescheduled date will be relayed
    to the homeowners
  • Vendors. Ask some of the community’s favorite vendors if they would like to attend.
  • Communicate the event to residents and ask for Donations. Provide an opportunity for members of the community to get involved by providing food, tableware, snacks, garbage bags, etc.

Remember hosting a community event does not have to be perfectly executed, take mental notes for next time. Relax, have fun, stay positive and enjoy your neighbors and your beautiful
community.
